With all this abundant free time on my hands, I am playing through all of the mainline campaigns again. I decided next on the list would be An Orcish Incursion. Set in the time after Haldric has crushed the orcs, the elves of the forest have to deal with orcs attempting to intrude into their territory and cut down their tress. Erlornas is an elvish noble sent to deal with the threat, and the campaign follows his battle with the orcs.
It really is a nice campaign, if a bit short (7 Scenarios). The dialogue is well-written, the story simple and interesting, and so even if it is not the most compelling, it certainly pulls your interest in. The maps are small but well laid-out, and make for quick battles. There are some errors with the dialogue of the Advisor unit being displayed, and I could not find out if the svn version of the game has fixed this or not. Really my only major issue with the campaign, as this does have an impact on the story, even if negligible.
Played through the campaign on Challenging, but that is laughable. It has a few tough spots, but does not warrant the name. I cannot imagine how easy it would have been on Normal.
