It seems interesting. Maybe one day I'll play it (assuming I can have access to stuff again).

Off-topic. Why did I get banned from multiplayer? I flamed on the forums, but why did you take away my multiplayer privileges after you told me that the two were not associated?

As an added note, I want to issue an apology to you (and one to soliton) for flaming up your forums, insults, and the like. I do not need (nor want) forum posting privileges back, nor do I wish to continue defending myself for having a dumb idea. I'm planning to use the rest of the month to learn how to play the game, but that will be hard without multiplayer. Seeing as how I flamed nobody on multiplayer, and don't plan to, Can I have that feature back?

-Kitteh, now going through attitude changes.

This is very true, I know what you mean about the desire of people to get more of the same thing because they feel they would enjoy it more, when really it is when companies try something different that they really appreciate it... once they have come to recognize it's worth. I guess it will be a never-ending trend, but I suppose I expected people who play in fantasy worlds to have more creative insight.

Eh, they make the same "demands" of blizzard. It's just a bunch of people who seriously feel entitled.

For some reason, probably based on basic human dislike of change, gamers tend to -think- they want more games like the ones they already have. Even if there's a new game out there that they'd actually love if they sat down and played it, most people tend to think they only want bigger and better versions of the same games they're already addicted to. And this "think they want" is a pretty huge market force - look at the lines of people camping out for the releases of Doom #whatever, or Final Fantasy CXVII.

The curious thing, if you follow any of Daniel Cook's essays, is that it's precisely the act of buckling to these demands or market forces that stagnates the market, and leads to so much "sameness" amongst games. They definitely do improve on existing designs, but the only way to come up with new designs is to just plug your ears and ignore all the people telling you to make the same game all over again, but with newer graphics.

Like henry ford said, "If I'd asked people what they wanted, they'd have asked for a faster horse." Rather than a car, of course. And it took years before we finally pulled our head out of our ass, and started designing cars as actual 'cars', rather than as carriage designs that happened to not have horses on the front.
